As the Miami International Boat Show expanded its digital experience, attendees needed a way to view, personalize, and manage event schedules—virtually and intuitively. The goal was to transform a static schedule into a dynamic interface that would make it easy for users to plan their day, book sessions, and keep track of upcoming events. I was tasked with designing not just the visual interface, but also the interactive layer; allowing users to reserve seats, create accounts, and curate their own schedules.
To build a system that felt both seamless and powerful, I grounded the design approach in two guiding principles:
I started by mapping the user journey: viewing the full timetable, selecting sessions, and reviewing a personal schedule. From those flows, I developed the layout, then iterated on interaction design for hover states, session booking, and confirmation feedback. I ensured that the design translated into a smooth, reliable experience in the live environment.
The final product delivered a dynamic, user-friendly timetable experience:
This design offered a modern, responsive timetable that felt both intuitive and visually coherent, encouraging engagement through personalization.
The personalized scheduling interface elevated attendee engagement by empowering users to curate their own event experiences. With clear visuals and interactive affordances, users could plan their time confidently and stay organized throughout the event.
This project deepened my expertise in designing modular interface systems that support personalization, and in blending usability with component-based design thinking. It reinforced the importance of crafting thoughtful user flows and component architecture—especially when building features that users interact with dynamically over time.
